Preserved Lichen
The Northern Lichen is one of the most appreciated plants in our Catalogue. It is often mistaken with the standard moss. Its characteristic sphere-like pattern is soft and fluffy, and feels just like wool.
It is also called Polar Moss and it is rigorously hand-picked in the sustainable North European forests, particularly in Finland and near the Arctic Polar Circle. It is used in preserved Green Walls and Greenery Frameworks. The Northern Lichen is highly sound-absorbing and isolating.
In the LinfaDecor Catalogue it is by far the most suitable plant to personalize and custom-make as far as its colours are concerned. This is due to the fact that its original neutral, almond-like colour is easy to dye. It is also soft and malleable and usually used to create business logos, inscription texts and furnishing assets.
The LinfaDecor eco-friendly stabilizing treatment stops it from ageing and helps it stay intact and unaltered for at least ten years. It prevents it from withering or drying out. Preserving a plant means preventing it from growing, enabling it to remain just way it was when you first got it. However, this subsequently blocks the photosynthesis too.
To clean or dust the Northern Lichen it is sufficient to use a cold-air hairdryer at minimum power. We strongly recommend not to expose the plant to direct sunlight and not to place it near any type of heating device. It is perfectly normal to smell a slight undergrowth scent at the beginning and also to notice a small colour change in time.
